Or, I could just say, “it’s looking that way, yes.”
February 19th, 2003 | by Scott Jennings |Here is a brief update on my New-York-this-weekend probability, making use of short paragraphs for the benefit of the ADD sufferers among whom I have a huge following:
Condition 1: Was 90%. Since then, Jason has decided that he really does not want to go on this eight month deployment, and is trying to get discharged from the Navy altogether. Last night, he wrote an e-mail to his division officer admitting his long-held bisexuality, hoping to kicked out the old-fashioned way.
Violating “don’t ask, don’t tell” is big business, but this plan could backfire big time. Probability of Condition 1 is reduced to 70%.
Condition 2: Was 50%, based solely on the numbers. Yesterday, I got a phone call from this undisclosed major consulting firm to follow up on our interview and see if I was still interested in the position. I gave the standard, “I was impressed with the company and would be very receptive to a job offer,” and I was told that I’d have a written offer by Friday. Good for me!
Probabilty of Condition 2 is increased to 90%, just to give me that mental wiggle room. Sometimes I learn!
Condition 3: Was 90%. I was told in my phone call yesterday that my start date would most likely be March 10th, and failing that, March 24th. What a vacation I’m getting out of this!
Probability of Condition 3 is increased to 100%, since March 10th and March 24th both aren’t this Monday, and that’s close enough to total cosmic certitude for me, dude.
The probability that I’d be in New York this weekend was 41%. With the changes, the probability is increased to 63%. We’re on the move here, people!
But I’m not the “special guest” at Flipside this week. I have no idea what Catanzariti is talking about.
