Big fan of the bushing.
April 9th, 2004 | by Scott Jennings |What do you get for $225.52?
- New distributor cap ($40.78)
- New rotor button ($14.75)
- New fuel filter ($29.95)
- New kick down bushing ($6.00)
- Mechanic road test/inspection ($24.75)
- Ignition tune up, distributor cap/rotor button installation ($37.20)
- Installation of new fuel filter ($54.56)
- A warning about a power steering leak and low coolant level (free!)
- All applicable environmental and supply fees, and sales tax ($17.53)
But man, does she handle ten times better. Apparently, on top of the problem with the fuel filter, the kick down bushing was completely deteriorated, which was causing the car to shift up prematurely when I accelerated, and not shift down properly. So when I was stalling, I was likely trying to gun my engine from second or even third gear, which is why it didn’t work too well.
I have no idea what any of that means, I’m just very good at memorizing new vocabulary words.
Why do I blog all of this? I need to catalogue everything in one place for when I yell at my brother. It’s helpful.
