Good car. Gooooood car.
April 18th, 2004 | by Scott Jennings |So Jeff and I had the conversation listed below, basically, and instead of telling me to fuck off, he and his roommate Morgan hopped in the car and drove on out for the weekend to take a look.
I managed to demonstrate the problem, and Jeff pretty quickly ascertained that starting the car in overdrive was my problem — I needed to start it in regular drive, let it warm up that way, and then switch it into overdrive. It was happy for the rest of the weekend. I picked up Dan Goldstein from a conference at Duke to guest-direct Mister Diplomat, drove him back to the Hilton in Durham, drove to the Golden Corral for Sunday brunch, all with no problems. (And now I’ve met my quota of blog hyperlinks.)
We also fixed my radio, installed new headlights, and added coolant, and now everything seems to be working just fine. I’ll probably get transmission service soon, just to be thorough.
My brother is still a pretty boorish douche, and he was happy to demonstrate that to everyone he met throughout the weekend.
