.625 miles in a kilometer.
October 16th, 2004 | by Scott Jennings |Greetings from, um, Toronto. I think. We’ve been moving around so much over the past couple of days that it’s become a beautiful gauzy mental pastiche. I don’t even know what that means.
We drove for about 15 hours (I logged about eight), crashed pretty hard with one of Katy’s 54 maternal aunts, went to Unionville (which was named 150 years ago, but settled much earlier than that) to visit more family, then came back to Toronto to again crash hard. I’m typing as fast as I can, then I’m taking a shower and packing for a trip to Kingston, where I’m told there will be a surprise party for another of the 87 maternal aunts. I’ll update as I can. My t-shirt says “I’ve Already Forgotten Your Name.”
I’m delighted by all the conversions. And the maple leaves and the countryside and whatnot. But mostly, the conversions. And pointing out how oddly similar yet disquietly different absolutely everything is.
