- The North Carolina State Fair was pretty ok. Pig racing was pretty good, but lacked the showmanship to make it truly memorable, and involved Jesus way too much. The Wild West dog stunt show was theatrically pitch-perfect and delightful. The carnies were dirty and scary. The fun houses and little rides were so bad that I was glad I wasn’t paying for them. But fried candy bars were everything I dreamed possible and more.
- Mister Diplomat is dead; long live Mister Diplomat. We’re not a DSI house team any more, but we’ll continue performing together — for one thing, someone will have to knock us off our Cagematch throne, which doesn’t seem very likely given our new “vote for us or we’ll die” angle. Excelsior!
- In the wake of house team shakeups, I’ve had the director’s chair pulled out for me once again — I’m at the helm of the new, yet-to-be-named Harold team. Good roster, people I’m excited to be working with again and people I’m excited to get to know better. I approve of this Harold team.
- Before you discover that I’m driving my girlfriend’s car because I’ve lost faith in the T-bird, allow me to preemptively make fun of myself: ha ha ha! You nancy-boy! You’re driving your girlfriend’s car! Ha ha ha!
- This blog would like to offer its full and enthusiastic endorsement to John Kerry for President. This blog makes this endorsement with no reservation; the author will vote for John Kerry without entering into any “vote trading” schemes, since I can not find myself excited about the Libertarian candidate. While I won’t be signing up for the Democratic Party any time soon, John Kerry is my man in the War on Terror. I trust a conscientious Vietnam veteran to lead our military into and out of the right battles. Domestically, I trust John Kerry to run a fiscally solvent reality-based big government that stays on the correct side of the wedge issues, as opposed to George Bush’s fiscally insolvent faith-based big government that blah blah gays blah blah stem cells blah blah you know all this. The early voter turnout is hopeful for Democrats in NC, so get out the motherfuckin’ vote, y’all.
- Now, let’s all hope that the struggling Green Bay Packers can defeat the languishing Washington Redskins on Sunday, since it’s the only election predictor that matters.
