Friday remains cat-day.
June 17th, 2005 | by Scott Jennings |Craigslist is full of weirdos. In case you were wondering.
I posted an ad there about a week ago advertising the availabilty of the room that Austin vacated. Pretty straightforward copy, I feel; I’m looking for a specific type (quiet and cat-abiding), so I’m not going to waste time with the dirty Carrboro types. The Raleigh-area Craigslist doesn’t get a whole hell of a lot of traffic, it seems, so I didn’t set my hopes too high. (But posting don’t cost nothin’, so what the hell.)
My first response came at 1:24am this morning. There were two “things” about the message:
- His e-mail handle is “Mr.Snuggles”
- He asked for pictures. Of my cats.
Oh, he seemed to be interested in the room as well, but what he wanted to know right away was — what do his kittycats look like? Are his kittycats precious? Might I, uh, snuggle them?
Mr.Snuggles, if you ever Google your ridiculous handle and read my public ridicule, then I want you to know that it’s personal. It’s extremely personal.
Meanwhile, I continue my search. And future roommate: you may love my kittycats, but you may not be odd about it.
