This I’ll look back on and shake my head slowly.
August 20th, 2005 | by Scott Jennings |I’ve had my freshly-washed Ford Contour for about seven months now, and I took it to the garage for the first time this weekend to tune up for the trip to Greenville to take the little lady back to school. Very routine sort of thing — new rear brakes and calipers. Got an oil change while I was at it. $175 all told.
For how hard I got kicked in the junk with the month-long ordeal to get the financing deal done, the car itself has been a champ. I’ve been all over the place: Charleston, Charlotte, New York, northern Raleigh, no probalo. Comfortable ride, cold A/C, good gas mileage. I can’t believe they didn’t screw me over with the actual car.
And now I’m off to knock hard on a shitload of wood.
