November 21st, 2005 | by Scott Jennings |I just got back from driving my dear friend Pete O’Bryan to Budget Rent-A-Car to retrieve the vehicle that will take him and his dear wife Jen to Chicago to retrieve the healthy baby girl that they are to adopt.
What a long road it’s been for the O’Bryans. It seemed so unfair that the universe had been keeping these two wonderful people from being parents and sharing their love with a child, and it’s a huge relief at the cosmic level to learn that this injustice is finally being resolved. Good for them, and good for us — my friends Jen and Pete are making the world a better place. That’s more than I can say I did today.
