I get up at 6:30am now.

  • Job: going really well. It’s complicated software (the most complicated I’ve ever worked with), but I already feel like I’m capable of being productive. For some reason, I have five more weeks of training scheduled. (That’s fine.) The people are great, and somehow, I ended up being the youngest person in the department again. I’m way too old to be the youngest in a department, but I told you this was a second beat, so we have to start it like the first one began. The commute sucks: 38 miles each way.
  • Moving: soon. The landlady was surprisingly understanding, and I’m cautiously optimistic that I’ll see my security deposit again. She told me that she’d replace the carpet and not take it out of my deposit (which is totes fair, the carpet sucked from the word go), and she’s letting me out sooner than the notice I’d need to give. I still need to take an afternoon to clean this place, though.
  • Improv: source of stress, to be honest. It’s funny, because I feel myself hitting my stride, figuring out how to teach Harold in a six week class with a unified philosophy that I can communicate, performing and connecting well, but the whole responsibility thing is dragging right now. Personal relationships are straining in places, little things are falling through, and excitement is waning a little. I need to find the fun, quickly, and find the balance with it.
