Three things.
September 8th, 2006 | by Scott Jennings |1) I was listening to Sirius Hits 1 on my drive to work yesterday, because I like to keep it easy to chew in the morning. They have a set of predictable morning DJs, but they manage to keep the banter to thirty-or-so seconds every three or four songs, which is surprisingly tolerable. In between that one Panic! At The Disco song and that other Kelly Clarkson song, the DJs were talking about that recent Lindsay Lohan paparazzi cooter shot that you’ve already heard about if you care about such things. One of the nameless DJs was trying to explain to the listeners that we were talking about a cooter shot without using the perfectly inoffensive word “cooter,” so he offered a metaphor: “cash and prizes.” I’ve been pondering that ever since.
UPDATE: Local dork Nick Faber informs me that the metaphor in question may have been coined by internationally successful dork Dane Cook. Still, I’m left pondering.
2) There are two people in my department with the same common first name. Someone from a different department got them confused, and came into my office looking for one of the two, then realized she needed the other one. She asked me where the other one sat, and I heard myself point and say, “’round the corner fudge is made.” For her part, she had the class not to point out how horrified she should have been.
3) My boss found my blog. He wanted to see me perform, I gave him the website for the theater because I didn’t feel like giving him the hard sell, and I guess he clicked around until he found my performance bio which links here. Fucking great.
