And watching ESPN during the day feels like I’m just goofing off.

A coworker and I have been making a habit of heading up to our building’s gym during the day to continue work on our respective guts. (Further evidence I’m turning into an old man: used to be I could lose weight when I wanted to just by not eating so much awful crap; now it appears my body is demanding exercise. Fine.)

It’s been good — they have the Nautilus-style machines in there, and I’m getting a much better workout than I was at home with my dumbells, and their cardio equipment is much better than my $88.88 Wal-Mart piece of junk.

But the best part, and I can’t believe no one told me about this, is that you get to take a shower in the middle of the day. A midday shower! There’s something about leaving your desk, going upstairs, and taking a shower that’s just so very, I don’t know, civilized.
