From now on, I’m only going to blog conversations we’ve already had.
November 29th, 2006 | by Scott Jennings |Oh, holy shit, I’m totally a middle-aged woman now.
I was in the break room at 10am making a packet of organic apple cinnamon oatmeal from the good folks at Nature’s Path, when I noticed that for the third consecutive day, some asswrangler had set two pies out on the table for all to enjoy. I ignored the pies and focused on the microwave intently, because I didn’t want pie, I wanted instant organic oatmeal. I was going to the gym later.
Just then, a middle-aged female coworker came in, saw the pies, and this conversation happened:
Her: “Oh my God, can they tell them to stop bringing in pies every morning?”
Me: “Oh, I know, it’s ten in the morning, I’m trying to have a healthy breakfast.”
Her: “Well, I’ll just smell them.”
Me: “Hey, that doesn’t cost anything.”
At least this explains the loud ticking sound.
