Officium perfeci.
January 12th, 2007 | by Scott Jennings |Today is my last day. My work is all wrapped up (for the most part), and now I’m just waiting around, answering dozens of last-minute questions, and filling out the questionnaire for my exit interview in a couple of hours. I’ll miss the people, I won’t miss the job.
On Monday I start a much much better job that’s much much closer to home that also happens to be a solid step in the right direction for my career. No more driving to Raleigh and back every day, no more days of bailing water with a thimble, no more apologizing for other people’s mistakes. I don’t have any regrets — I clearly had to do what I did here to get to where I’m going on Monday — but I’m going to drive away and not look back. So long and thanks for all the Chick-fil-A, downtown Raleigh.
There’s a man who does wheelies on his bicycle in the mornings outside his house on Person St near MLK Blvd. I think he’s advertising a home-based business of some sort, sometimes he wears a t-shirt that mentions DVDs, sometimes he wears a t-shirt expressing his support of our troops. It’s a spectacle. I guess I’ll never figure it out.
