Shut up.

Shut up, shut up, shut up. All of you, shut up.

Shut up about growth. Shut up about ownership. Shut up about community. Shut up about what you’re owed and what you lost. I’m an old man and I’ve been at this a fairly long time in large theaters and small theaters and no theaters, and I don’t have the perspective to talk about any of that stuff, so I promise you’re only making sense to yourself. And all of you can vigorously defend your own dream or your own status quo or your own good ol’ days all you want, but it’s not going to make it any more real or any more fun or turn back the clock a tick. Sorry. Deal.

Do you like to rehearse? Then get some people together and rehearse. Do you like to perform? Rehearse and put up a show. Do you like to watch other people perform? There are a few venues for that around here. Do you like to hang out with your friends? Then pick up a phone and call them. Hell, throw a party, I’ll try to be there.

Things used to be more fun, but that’s because we chose to have more fun back then. So, like, shut up.

This isn’t important, but I’m posting it anyway. This is another blog entry.
