Give ’til it cramps in the legs.
May 4th, 2007 | by Scott Jennings |I feel like I got gently mugged just a little bit. (And no, Cal, I’m not still talking about how you cracked my aces with 7-3 of hearts last night. But that was bullshit. And really, I should be mad at Jason for chasing an inside straight to give you the odds to come along. Anyway.)
Three old friends of mine have, in the past week, hit me up for donations for three different charity walks/jogs/active-activity-athons for three different causes in three different cities. And because they’re all doing something for these causes I’d support and I’m doing nothing, I donated modestly to each of them. This is no problem at all for me, it’s something I’m happy to do, I’m glad I’m able to do it, and I’m glad they have enough initiative to strive for the title of “participant,” ’cause I sure don’t.
All I ask is, if any of my other friends plan to be a “participant” in anything in the near future, can you hold off for like a month or so before hitting me up for cash? Like, I know I’m a total mark, but just give me a little time to recover from all this support. I’m exhausted now.
