(Despite all the shiny new books on improvisation that have come out in the past few years, Impro is still my favorite and I can’t recommend it enough, especially to people frustrated by a thought-heavy/quick-witted/just-be-funny approach to the art. It’s dated in several spots and speaks to a more rigid style than you may aspire to, but its approach to the fundamentals and the philosophy is without peer.)
