On the casual gravity of social networking.
June 25th, 2007 | by Scott Jennings |I was dragged kicking and screaming to Facebook (thanks, babe), but once I got there, I loved everything about it: the functional aesthetic, how it told me everything I wanted to know about everyone I wanted to stalk, how the lie of everyone being in my “extended network” was finally put to bed. These days, I’m logged into Facebook constantly (I’m online RIGHT NOW), and I only head over to MySpace when an old friend from New York forgets that I moved away several years ago and sends me an invitation to one of their shows. (Hey guys: I moved away several years ago.)
But now, this poorly-written yet provocative essay demands I consider: what does that say about me?
