These doors never do close.

These weekdays of leisure in the city will soon be over, so I made the trip to Brooklyn today to finally explore the Transit Museum. Best museum EVER.

I couldn’t get enough of the transit ads in the old trains, several of which I photographed and will offer with no further commentary:

If the MTA had a sense of humor, they’d slip in an old-time-style Dr. Zizmor. No such luck.

My favorite of the old trains was a 1950s era IRT car:

Hey, former President Gerald Ford, who had the last laugh, huh?

And as if all this wasn’t enough, there was a little tiny kitteh docent.

The exhibits on the construction of subway tunnels and on Robert Moses and the building of the Triborough Bridge were incredible. Five star museum, totally worth a trip.
