No one touched the fruit plate.
November 17th, 2007 | by Scott Jennings |Yesterday was a site launch day at work. (For Dave Siegel, who thinks I work at a bakery: yesterday we introduced a new loaf of bread to our bread inventory.)
This was the first site we’ve launched for this particular publisher, and I had joked with him consistently over the course of a couple of weeks that the other publisher serves cupcakes whenever he launches a site. Like, “I know this is your first site going out, so just so you know what to expect, [other publisher] does a nice little spread of cupcakes.” It was a good bit.
So we all cruise over to the conference room around 3:45 to wait for the DNS to switch over to the vendor’s data center and do some quick sanity checks, and what’s waiting for us?
Cupcakes aside, this is the best job I’ve had in my life. Command and fluency, for the first time in my career, really.

Wait, you don’t work at a bakery? Aw, hell.
